Jon Snow definitely does know, you guys. 'Cause he's on a mission to save his lady fair and bestest bestie from an ashy grave just before Mt. Vesuvius has a chance to blow the city of Pompeii into its place in tragic history.

This first teaser trailer for Paul W.S. Anderson's "Pompeii," debuted at Yahoo! Movies, presents Kit Harington as Milo, a slave being shipped out to Naples who decides to turn back and rescue his master's daughter-slash-super-crush Cassia (Emily Browning) and his brohan Bridgageous (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje).

Harington admitted to finding some similarities between his "Game of Thrones" counterpart and this guy Milo to Entertainment Weekly, saying "he’s a good swordsman and good fighter, and quite brooding, which is all of what Jon Snow is, and he doesn't really speak a hell of a lot even though I've got a lot of screen time. He kind of keeps himself to himself."

He was quick to differentiate between the two as well, though, because the threat of typecasting here is just as ominous as that grumbling volcano. "The differences, and why I was interested in the role," he added, "were that Milo is completely set on vengeance rather than honor and justice. He’s an angry, angry man who doesn’t care what he does. For a large part of the film, he's driven by pure rage."

So, probably no puppy-saving for this Milo character then.

As for the others, while Bridgageous has an ubercool name, he also looks to be just s**t outta luck around the 1:23 mark. Meanwhile, the damsel in distress seems to be getting her rescue by way of Harington's knight in half-nude armor as she trots away from all the raining doom in her little horse-drawn carriage ... albeit, dodging giant fireballs tough enough to sink ships along the way.

If we were doing the movie math on this one, it'd go something like this: "Dante's Peak" + "Gladiator" - any shred of Oscar potential = "Pompeii."

The movie, which also stars Carrie-Anne Moss, Kiefer Sutherland, Paz Vega, Jessica Lucas and Jared Harris, will blast into the theaters on Feb. 21, 2014.
